This is a watercolour of the Stanley Park totem poles that I painted for a good friend way back in the day. She had just moved back from B.C. and I wanted her to have a little reminder. I’m not sure if it’s much of a reminder, but I really liked the way it turned out. It’s one of my favourites.
Little known fact: I almost threw it in the garbage at one point. It started out a complete mess! It had no depth and looked like a cartoon. I stayed with it and after awhile it started to take shape. I’m glad I didn’t give up on it, I love looking at the wood grain.
