This spring, I had the privilege to tour the new 100 Masters: Only in Canada exhibit at the WAG before any of the public. And what an exhibit it is! I’ve seen many collections at the gallery, but this is by far the greatest one. So many amazing masterpieces in one place. There’s pieces by Monet, Van Gogh, Picasso, Rodin, Warhol, Renoir, Rembrandt to name just a few. Oh, it is art heaven!
Our tour group got the added bonus of a private guided tour by the WAG’s CEO and chief curator, Stephen Borys. He’s been working on this exhibit for three years and you can really hear how immensely proud he is of the collection and what a huge labour of love it was to get all these wonderful pieces in one place.
I didn’t get enough time to see it all, but that’s ok. I will be making another visit… or two.
