Hello world! It’s been a long time since I’ve been here. Between Brush Strokes has been sorely neglected over the last few months as I’ve been busy blogging elsewhere. I find the last thing I want to do after a day of writing is to write even more. Writing is hard, yo. At least for me it is. It’s not something that comes naturally, so I find I feel drained at the end of the day and want to get far away from words and just focus on what’s most important in life — cat videos!
Well, cat videos AND Harry Potter. And even though I want a break from writing, I do enjoy writing these little recaps about our Harry Potter Nights. So since HPNVI is actually tomorrow, it seems like a good time to get HPNV in the books. Oh, and just so you know, the last party was FIVE DAMN MONTHS AGO! That is a seriously ridiculous amount of time to pass after an event to blog about it.
Since HPNV was so long ago, not much from that night is exactly fresh in the mind, but I do remember the night being a golden one, at least in food, drink and conversation. The movie wasn’t particularly golden though, as we watched The Half-Blood Prince, one of the darkest and saddest ones out of the bunch.
We started our mellow-yellow night imbibing a fresh batch of golden Liquid Luck and ended it “ooohing” and “ahhing” over fabulously frothy Butterbeer ice cream sandwiches, which tasted like how gold looks. In between, we sipped on a potent batch of Ron Punch, mixed up some Fang’s doggy bowls, munched on Howler cheese topped with “It’s Salsaaaah, not Salsaaar,” and downed a couple of not your muggle’s mojitos. Lindsay’s hubby and friend joined in on the noshing and pretty much downed all that Ron Punch on their own!
We’ve now watched all the movies except the last two. It’s going to be bittersweet to say goodbye to these parties when we’re done. I’ve enjoyed them immensely.
