After spending two glorious weeks in Maui, it was nice to come home. I was starting to get homesick.
My last lunch before leaving the island included the best chicken salad sandwich ever. It was filled with walnuts and cranberries, which was a really tasty combo. While noshing on our goodies in front of the ocean, my friend gasped and shouted at us to look out at the water. What did we see? A large humpback whale breaching! What a sight! He left a huge splash and gave me a treat I always wanted to see in person. I waited two weeks to see that and had jokingly told my friends that the trip would be a disaster if I didn’t. Another item has been checked off the bucket list.
In our two weeks, we definitely packed a lot in, here are some of the highlights:
- The road to Hana (swimming under a waterfall, ya’ll)
- Snorkelling Molokini and swimming with a sea turtle
- A memorable wedding
- The stunning sunsets
- Getting “mugged” while whale watching
- The lava fields
- Pizza and Paia
Goodbye Maui, you are so beautiful and laid back. There will be another visit. And thanks to all my new followers and readers, I’m just tickled you stopped by.
Mele Kalikimaka everyone!
